International Association of Publishers With the paradigmatic shift to unprecedented Online pedagogy, following the eruption of the Covid pandemic, teachers have noticed changes in learner attitudes which are difficult to deal with. The problems individual learners at the Secondary and Under Graduate levels faced, during the spread of the pandemic, varied in degree with relation to socio-economic factors and conditions arising out of the digital divide that exist in India. To provide a comprehensive picture of the problems learners from different backgrounds face, the investigator presents three cases of learners pursuing courses at the secondary, Under Graduate and professional levels for analysis. Informal interviews with teachers teaching all three levels of learners was conducted to identify learner attitudes. Such data was first compared with the data collected through a review of the three case studies and later matched with impressions of Neuroscientists on effective learning. The picture that emerged was not only grim but makes it difficult to address by teachers even with a knowledge of Pedagogy or Educational Psychology. Even though many educational institutions had sought the expertise of counsellors adept at fostering mental wellbeing of learners, it did not result in a positive attitudinal change. The investigator proposes that besides initiating steps for nurturing better mental health, it is imperative to re-design the curriculum and course books to match learning and learner needs in the virtual mode. In this context, this study aimed to determine pre-service teachers' opinions about online education carried out during the COVID pandemic through the metaphors. The conceptual framework of this study was based on Moore's transactional distance theory. Transactional distance refers to the interplay of behaviors that occur between teachers and learners when they communicate through technology. The study group of the research consisted of pre-service teachers from different departments of a state university in Istanbul. Participants were selected by the purposive sampling method. Pre-service teachers produced metaphors, 29 of which were positive and of which were negative, for online education. In terms of interaction types, pre-service teachers mostly produced positive metaphors for learnercontent and learner-interface interactions. The interaction types about which pre-service teachers produced negative metaphors were mostly related to learner-teacher and learner-content interactions. Based on the results of the present study, it can be concluded that online education activities should be organized in such a way that learners can interact with the teacher, content, interface, other learners, and extracurricular learning network at a sufficient level. Çalışmanın temel amacı, covid sürecinde çevrimiçi eğitim alan üniversite öğrencilerinin kullandıkları programa ilişkin sistem kalitesinin, teknoloji kabul düzeyi üzerindeki etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaca ulaşmak için ölçüm aracı olarak, bilgi teknolojilerinin son kullanıcı tarafından kabulünü incelemekte yaygın olarak kullanılan teknoloji kabul modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın amacına uygun olarak literatür taranmış, araştırma değişkenlerine ilişkin ölçekler çalışmaya uyarlanarak Google Forms üzerinde anket formu oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmada, kartopu örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen ve Covid sürecinde çevrimiçi eğitim aldığını belirten üniversite öğrencisine çevrimiçi anket uygulanarak veriler toplanılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi BÖTE bölümü öğrencilerinin işbirlikli harmanlanmış öğrenme temelli bir dersin öncesindeki çevrimiçi öğrenme hazırbulunuşluklarını, ders öncesindeki ve sonrasındaki derse yönelik tutumlarını ve ders sonrasındaki çevrimiçi ortamda Edmodo sistemi algıladıkları sosyalliklerini incelemektir. Nicel araştırma yönteminin izlendiği bu yarı deneysel çalışmaya, akademik yılı güz döneminde, Ege Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, BÖTE bölümünde, Eğitimde Materyal Tasarımı ve Kullanımı dersini alan 32 öğrenci katılmıştır. Bulgular, öğrencilerin denel işlem öncesindeki çevrimiçi Amerikada Amcık Yalamak Erbest Ekşi hazırbulunuşluklarının ve denel işlem sonrasındaki çevrimiçi sosyallik puanlarının yüksek olduğunu; denel işlem sonrasındaki tutum puanlarının öncesindekine göre yükselmekle birlikte, bu farkın anlamlı olmadığını göstermiştir. Ek olarak, öğrencilerin yarısının harmanlanmış öğrenmeyi diğer öğretim modellerine göre tercih ettikleri görülmüştür. Đşbirlikli harmanlanmış öğrenmeyi ise büyük ölçüde yararlı buldukları ve hem harmanlanmış öğrenme hem de işbirlikli grup çalışmaları konusunda olumlu görüşleri olduğu belirlenmiştir. Abstract By increasing interaction among learners, blended collaborative learning practices which use the facilities of information and communication technologies have a supportive potential for learners to develop sociability and positive attitudes towards a course. This study aims to investigate online learning readiness of students of Computer Education and Instructional Technology CEIT department before the collaborative blended course, pre and post attitudes towards the course and their perceived sociability in online learning environment Edmodo system after the course. The findings indicated that the levels of online learning readiness of students before the collaborative blended course and their perceived sociability in the online environment after the course were high; while post attitudes scores was higher than pretest scores, the difference was insignificant. Moreover, it was revealed that half of the students preferred blended learning among other teaching models. They also found collaborative blended learning quite useful and reported positive views about both blended learning practices and collaborative group work.
